Ayotte Statement on NH Supreme Court Order on Sealed Records

Statement

Date: June 14, 2016
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte today released the following statement regarding an order by the New Hampshire Supreme Court to unseal trial court files from Lizzi Marriott's murder trial, which would allow courts to make personal information about rape victims public after that information was sealed during trial.

"As New Hampshire's Attorney General, I fought on behalf of survivors and victims, and I believe the New Hampshire Supreme Court must reconsider this terribly misguided order given its disgraceful treatment of victims and their families," said Senator Ayotte.
